India Women vs Sri Lanka Women: In the first match of the Women's World Cup, India set Sri Lanka a target of 270 runs in 47 overs. Amanjot Kaur scored the highest 57 runs for India. This player played this innings in just 56 balls. She hit 5 fours and a six. The important thing is that Amanjot played this innings batting at number 8. Apart from her, Deepti Sharma also scored 53 runs. Team India reached 269 runs on the basis of these two half-centuries. Amanjot Kaur has created a big record by scoring this brilliant half-century. Let us tell you what amazing feat this player has achieved.

Amanjot Kaur's record

Amanjot Kaur batted at number 8 and scored more than fifty runs. She is the first cricketer to achieve this feat on Indian soil in the Women's World Cup. Before her, Pooja Vastrakar achieved this feat against Pakistan in the 2022 World Cup. She scored 67 runs in that match, although the match was held in Mount Maunganui.

Amanjot is the daughter of a carpenter

Amanjot was born in Mohali on August 25, 2000. Her father, Bhupinder Singh, is a carpenter. He made Amanjot's first bat. He was often upset with his daughter playing cricket, but she had the support of her grandmother. Interestingly, until the age of 15, she played not only cricket but also football, hockey, and handball with boys. After this, she joined Nagesh Gupta's academy, where her bat swing caught the attention of the coach.

This is how Team India was handled

The Indian team scored 269 runs against Sri Lanka, but there was a time when India was in deep trouble. Mandhana was dismissed for 8 runs, and in the 26th over, the team lost three wickets, including Harleel Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Harmanpreet Kaur. Richa Ghosh also departed for 2 runs, but Amanjot Kaur then made history by forging a century partnership with Deepti.
